Joyce Huber
How many times have you heard the expression, Experience
is the best
teacher? Life is a series of learning experiences and Joyces
19 years
teaching students at every level helped catapult her into the upper
echelon
of real estate professionals in the industry. As her friends came
to say,
After 19 years of that, she can handle anything!
Her love for teaching helped her inspire inner-city
high school graduates
find creativity in culinary arts. At the high school level, she
instilled a
sense of self in her students and encouraged them to set their sights
high.
As an elementary school administrator and educator she nurtured
young minds
to explore all aspects of the world while raising two college-bound
children
of her own.
These previous life experiences changed when Joyce
and her husband, Jim,
moved to Longboat Key in 1978. With family grown, Joyce took on
a new
challenge and started her real estate career a new learning
experience.
Success came quickly as she jumped to the head of the class becoming
Arvida
Realtys top producer and continues today as one of the top
agents in the
nation. Her dedication and commitment to her students has carried
over to
the hundreds of clients and friends she has acquired in her storied
real
estate career.
Mark Huber
Mark is a true entrepreneur who loves taking on a
challenge. At the age of
22, he started his first business in Sarasota taking on two industry
giants.
Within two years he took over the #1 position in the area with over
300
employees and a million-dollar payroll challenge met.
After six more years of fine-tuning the company and
hiring the best staff in
the field, Mark jumped at the chance for a new challenge in real
estate.
Following in his mother Joyces footsteps, Mark joined a boutique
real
estate company on St. Armands Key and became their #1 agent
in his first
year. In 1998, Mark joined forces with Joyce to form one of the
top real
estate teams in Florida with combined sales of nearly $400,000,000
challenge
met.
In the midst of all the financial successes, a new,
more import challenge
arose. Becoming a single parent in 1990 forced Mark to take stock
in what is
truly important in life children. This daunting task turned
into a
life-altering blessing with rewards beyond his wildest imagination.
His life
went from wining and dining customers to being the coach of both
girls and
boys soccer and Little League baseball teams. A weekend of
golf turned into
being the only father putting a tu-tu and slippers on his little
girl at
ballet practice. He juggled work with choir, violin lessons, soccer,
baseball, ballet, football, volleyball, plays, recitals, awards
and playing
Chief Big Buffalo at Indian Guides campouts.
With his children grown Mark II is serving
in the Navy and Heather will be
attending Florida International University on a full volleyball
scholarship Mark is not taking any breathers!
Mark is grateful for all the opportunities available
to children in this
community and strongly believes that everyones children deserve
the best.
Having seen how important arts education was to his own son and
daughter,
the next challenge he is embracing is to do what he can to strengthen
the
state of arts education programs in Sarasota and Manatee counties.
